Work plays an important role in our daily lives. As well as providing for us financially, work shapes our wellbeing, confidence and sense of purpose.

Employment support in Kent and Medway

Work plays an important role in our lives, affecting our wellbeing, confidence and sense of purpose. When mental health difficulties such as anxiety, depression or stress make working or finding work harder — or when work-related pressures begin to impact your mental health — the right support can make a difference.

At NHS Kent and Medway Talking Therapies, we offer employment support to people already receiving our talking therapies who need help with work or finding a job in Kent and Medway. If appropriate, your therapist can refer you to our employment service for practical advice and guidance.

How does employment support work?

Our employment support service offers free, confidential help for people whose mental health is affecting their work, or whose work situation is affecting their mental health.

You may benefit from this support if you are:

  • Out of work and looking for new opportunities
  • Feeling unhappy or stuck in your current role
  • Experiencing workplace issues such as unfair treatment or redundancy
  • Returning to work after sickness
  • Considering a career change

“I know 100%, without your help I would not have got the job or felt prepared for any of the interviews I’ve had, as I had no clue how to conduct myself in the right manner with my anxiety, but you really made me feel so calm and relaxed right from the first call, and gave me all I needed to feel confident in the interviews”.
